Japji - Nanak
One God -
True name
The creator
The fearless
The unvengeful
Never dies
Is never born again
Knows everything
Is realized through the guru's grace.
Meditate -
True in the beginning
True in the end
Is true now.
Nanak says:
Shall be true in the future too.
No one can comprehend him
Thinking of him a thousand times.
No one can gain inner peace
By keeping silence on and on.
No one can be satiated
By hoarding heaps of riches.
One may be wise a hundred thousand times
But none of his wiseness will surpass his death.
How can one have true wisdom? How can one see through falsehood?
Nanak replies:
By following the preordained will of God.
